Sectionals are bought for sitting and sold on sleeping, and the two are measured completely differently. A sectional can have excellent seat construction and a bed that is 44 inches deep with a seam across it, or a genuine pull-out mattress under seats that sag in a year.

The Serta Active is the interesting one for this site’s reader: 34.8 inches deep, which is ordinary sofa depth, with under-seat storage and coil seats. It is a three-seat convertible rather than a true sectional, and for a small living room that is usually the better answer.

What we would actually put in a small room

If the room can take 55 inches of permanent depth, the Brittany Sectional is the best-documented sofa on this page and gives the largest fold-flat surface.
