The short version

Fold & Futon earns a commission when you buy something through a link on this site. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change which products we recommend or the order we rank them in.

The Amazon Associates statement

Fold & Futon is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Amazon is currently the only retailer we earn from. Some links on this site point to manufacturers’ own stores — Bestar, Lori Beds, The Novogratz, Night & Day Furniture, Murphy Bed Depot — and those are plain, untracked links that earn us nothing. They are there because they are the best source of specification data, not because they pay.

How the links work

Product links on this site pass through a short redirect before they reach the retailer. That does two things: it keeps every affiliate destination in a single configuration file, so a link can be updated in one place rather than across dozens of pages, and it lets us count buy clicks without third-party tracking scripts on the pages themselves.

Every earning link carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", opens in a new tab, and is labeled #ad with a link back to this page. The redirect path is excluded from our sitemap and disallowed in robots.txt, because it is plumbing rather than content.

What we do not do

We do not print prices. Live pricing is not enabled on this site, prices in this category change weekly, and a stale figure is worse than none. Every price slot reads “check price on Amazon” and takes you to the current one. Full reasoning on how we choose what to recommend.

We do not take payment for placement. No brand can buy a position, a score or inclusion, and no brand sees a page before it publishes. That is set out properly in the editorial policy.

We do not rank by commission. Where a cheaper option that pays us less is the better buy, it is the pick. Several merchants in our configuration earn us nothing at all and are linked anyway.

We do not publish ratings or review counts. The scores on product cards are our own editorial rubric, explained on the methodology page — never customer sentiment, and never emitted as structured data.

Why the disclosure is on every page

A one-line disclosure appears above the first affiliate link on every commercial page here, not only on this one. That is the FTC’s expectation and it is also just reasonable: you should know how a recommendation is funded at the moment you read it, rather than having to go looking.
